Goodwill and Recharge Activity

During the summer months, various campus organizations rely on Computer Lab Management to provide support via its computing facilities. This includes support for the annual Summer Institute in Teaching and Technology which trains various faculty on the using of various technology for instruction. Some campus organizations offer pre-college seminars to high school students who require rooms for instruction. The graph below represents the total hours provided by Computer Lab Management. Goodwill hours are not charged and CLM provides it as a courtesy to various groups. In 2004, CLM provided 109 hours of support which equates to $8,829 in equivalent recharge dollars if they were charged. Figure 1 below shows that non-instructional demand for computer classrooms decreased significantly in 2004. This is related to programmatic changes in various departments, some linked to budget cuts, that resulted in fewer reservations.
