Administrative Support Trainee (SAIII $10.50/hr)

Duties:

  • Open and close the Computer Lab Management office following established procedures
  • Greet visitors and answer phone using active listening skills
  • Direct visitors and callers to appropriate administrative office staff
  • Take messages and Computer Room Reservations over the phone
  • Retrieve, sort and distribute Computer Lab Management mail
  • Perform general office tasks such as answering phones, copying, printing, faxing, etc.
  • Maintain a clean office by following established procedures
  • Assist other Admin Support students and train on basic procedures for specialized administrative duties such as keys and alarm codes, vests, room reservations, student records and hires, facilities maintenance, payroll distribution and office supplies
  • Follow strict security and confidentiality procedures pertaining to student payroll and records, and key procedures
  • Attend and assist in planning Boot Camp, quarterly meetings and events

  • Skill in verbal and written communication
  • Complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to handle sensitive and private information discreetly
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Have previous knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet programs, email and web browsing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Take initiative and responsibility
  • Must maintain UC Davis student status (enrolled, PELP, etc.)
  • Must work at least 12 hours per week
  • Cannot work more than 19.5 hours a week for all UCD jobs combined
  • May be required to work when not scheduled with academic commitments (i.e. classes, labs, discussions, and clubs)
